The boat trip 7th June 2010

One of the sponsors of the show treated the whole cast and crew (and families) to a day out on a boat. It was a wonderful day and one of the highlights of our trip! It was really good getting to see another side of Hong Kong away from the intensity of the city.
We went by bus to Aberdeen Boat Club.

And here is the lovely boat that ferried us around for the day. There were 4 levels in it so plenty of room.
Hailey and Ben really loved the whole boat experience.

This is the other boat as we didnt all fit on the one. You can see some of the scenery, lots of hilly Islands and a clear, perfect day.

Hailey and Lily had fun together. Lily is Lisa and Ian's little girl.

Hailey is a complete social butterfly and made several new friends including Rozie and Dean who are dancers in Chicago. She even learnt a few new dance steps!

Ben enjoyed learning about how to drive a boat.

We went for a lovely sail and then found a bay to put in the anchor for a few hours. Nearly everyone jumped into the water. It was alot of fun.

We then went to Lamma Island which has only a few locals and several seafood restaurants.

We went to the famous Rainbow Seafood Restaurant. It has all the seafood alive in tanks across the front.
We had a seafood feast!! It was all incredibly delicious.

Everyone at our table.
I sat next to a lovely man and we had lots of good chats. Only later did I find out I had been sitting next to a superstar. He is Steve Mortimer who was the former captain of the Canterbury Bulldogs and a football legend!! Wow! His wife is the Director of Chicago so he was in HK for a week visiting her.

Ben wasnt really interested in trying new things so he found another toddler to play cars with.

The restaurant owner showed the children some of the live food. Here is a big colourful lobster.

A photo of the whole group.

Walking back to the boat. Here is Ian and Lisa's other little girl, Grace. She is only 11 weeks old and is always so happy and placid even when doing all this travelling around.

We got home late in the afternoon. It was such a great day. We were really taking advantage of the sun and warm weather as its under two weeks till we go home to chilly Melbourne. We are not ready to go just yet!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This shiny, new trumpet is the one Shane found in Singapore and simply had to have. He says it is the best he has ever played (heard that one before ha ha ha!). After lengthy negotiations we decided it was for the best and so here it is.
It is rather pretty with fancy engraving and Shane is really enjoying playing it.

A funny photo of Hailey and Ben. Pick who is the eldest child ha ha ha. There is only 400gms between them and one of them is certainly a more solid build than the other!!
Excuse the nappy/undies shot but its really hot here!
