The Christmas Nativity play 8/12/10

Hailey and Ben attend Mainly music every thursday morning. It is a Salvo run music program where the kids do lots of singing and dancing and have alot of fun. The group put on an end of year performance where they did some of their songs and also a nativity play. The play was funny as 1-4yr olds dont always remember their parts. It was a great night.

Hailey played the part of Mary and Ben was a sheep!

Santa visited and handed out personalised shakers to all the kids.
A happy boy.

The animals, angels and shepherds sat along the front.

Hailey took her part as Mary very seriously and did a fantastic job. She had one line to say which she did beautifully. Joseph wasnt as keen to fulfill his role!

With the angels.

The whole group. Such a cute bunch of little kids.

Rain, rain, rain.

It has been raining heavily and constantly for a few weeks now. Hailey and Ben love getting amongst it. Here they are out the front in the pouring rain where a big puddle has formed. They really enjoy getting as wet and dirty as possible.

This is the now flooded sandpit. The playing starts out innocently enough....

But then he cant resist going that extra step further....

And then goes the whole way and gets completely drenched!

More bits and pieces.

It was Shane's birthday on the 14th Novemer and he turned 37! He had a nice day and we went out to dinner in St Kilda which was fun!

We bought some new bunks last week so Ben has moved out of the cot and into a big bed. They love the bunks and love sleeping together. They are slowly learning not to spend an hour chatting before going to sleep. There is a blanket folded into the side near Bens head to make sure he doesnt fall out before he gets used to the new bed.

Hailey who is loving being the big sister up the top.

Ben who is a very happy boy in his new bed.

While working in the city, Shane saw this adorable little suit and couldnt resist buying it. Ben loves dressing up like Daddy when he goes to work. He looks so cute in it.

Hailey and her friend Ella. They have been friends at playgroup for the last 3 years. Ella and her little sister come over for a play sometimes.

Alot of kids go to bed with a teddy, but Ben goes to bed cuddling a car.

We built a new pen for the chooks. I made a plan and then after many trips to Bunnings and three days of work, it was complete. The hens love their new home and happily climb the ladder up to bed at night. They should start laying around Christmas time so we are looking forward to that.

Here is one of the lovely ladies. She is a Sussex hen, almost fully grown.

Our lovely Isla is 6 months old next week. She is such a great little dog and wonderful in every way.

Isla at 5 months. She has her first two shows in December so that will be fun.

Our new baby!!!!!!!!!!

We are extremely thrilled, happy and excited that we are expecting baby number 3!!!
It was a long, hard wait till 12 weeks but finally we were able to see the little one on ultrasound. Here is a photo. He/she is due 8th May 2011. We are so very happy!

And a little pic showing one of Bens favourite pastimes. He loves sitting on Dads motorbike and can sit there for ages riding and imagining. He doesnt like it when it is turned on though, thats a bit scary!

October/November

We have no family photos!! So we put the camera on timer out the front and got an ok one. Will try to get some better photos in the near future.

Ben is going through a little 'stage' where he is copying all the fun things his big sister does including dressing up. We have bought him some boy dress ups to encourage him away from all the pretty dresses ha ha ha.
We took Hailey for her first horse riding lesson. It was on a slow, fat little pony but she had a great time and learnt to hold the reins and balance.

Rosalind (my sis) and her family visited us for a few days whilst down for a family event they were attending. It was so wonderful to see them all and Hailey and Ben were thrilled to have Sophie and Olivia to play with.

We had a Policeman drop around to buy some dog equipment from us and Ben was delighted that he let him sit in the Police car! He put on the lights and sirens too. Very exciting!

Charlotte's Party

Hailey went to her first birthday party in October. Charlotte is her best friend from kinder who was turning four and all the little girls from kinder were invited. It was so lovely and one of the Disney princesses came along for entertainment which was very popular!
All the girls had a wonderful time.

Cutting the beautiful princess cake.

Lots of fun games and dancing with Princess Belle.

Melbourne Royal Show!!

We had a wonderful day at the Melbourne Show. We all went with Nanna and Grandpa Gillard.
Its the first year both kids were able to have a go on the rides and they had alot of fun!

And the big kid too...
Hailey loves the facepainting.
A very happy little boy in his favorite car....Lightning McQueen!!

August/September

We went to Bundoora Farm one morning and had alot of fun. It a huge parklands with lots of amazing history associated with it.
Hailey's favourite thing to do is always the pony ride.

On the tractor ride.

Hailey and Ben loved bottle feeding the lambs.

And then they could hand feed them some grains. It was cold, hence the beanies but a great day.
A photo of our mandarin tree. After so many years of drought, we have finally had a wet winter and the mandarins are delicious. Hailey, Ben and I often sit in the backyard eating them.

Growing very little in the vege garden at the moment but here is our September harvest of potatoes.

Our chicks now have some feathers so can spend daytimes outside.

August

We have a Corgi puppy. I had to downside due to having little people around so here is Isla. She is 3 weeks old here.

First day home at 9 weeks.

The sweet little girl at 12 weeks. She is a lovely little dog and we all have alot of fun with her.

Kinder had a chicken theme one week where they had some real chickens hatching in the classroom. This is some of Haileys artwork for the week.

Ben has decided he wants to be just like Daddy and play the trumpet and always runs to grab his one whenever Shane practises. They all have fun.

Here is a little video of them all doing a long note.

We got three, day old chickens a few weeks ago. They are just beautiful. There is a Light Sussex, a Buff Cochin and the cute little topknot which is a black Polish.

Hailey adores them and has them out of their enclosure everyday. They are being kept inside at 30 degrees but will soon have all their feathers and go outside.

This is how Ben gets his bed ready just before bedtime. He puts everything in that he might need overnight.

A photo of the damage Ben has done to the cot. After Hailey moved out of it, there wasnt a mark on it. After a few years with a boy in it there is damage all the way along the side!! Oh dear.
